Warranty Matters

Most furnaces last from 10 to 15 years and have a 10 year parts warranty, and 1 year labour warranty on them. (Learn more about furnace warranties on our YouTube video:

After about ten years, your furnace can become a major liability, as the expensive, intricate motors and other parts wear out.

For example, if the ECM blower motor in your furnace needs replacement, it will cost about $2,000. Who wants to dump $2,000 of their hard-earned money into a 10+ year old furnace?

Planning Pays Off

Being forced to make a serious financial decision under duress is never a great position to be in. We suggest reviewing your options with a Home Comfort Advisor in your own home at a convenient time, when your furnace is around 8 to 10 years old. That’s why we offer information sessions, customized plans, and financing options to help you plan in advance.

Your furnace is one of the most essential systems in your home. It pays to take the time to understand it well.  A good choice of furnace depends on factors such as:

  • home size and age
  • materials your home is built with
  • your climate preferences
  • room sizes and purposes
  • the number of windows you have
  • the type of insulation you have

These are the types of questions we will ask in order to give you proper recommendations for a new furnace and proper installation.

Take Note of What You Have

It helps to look at the type of system you already have in your home. It could be one of these:

Central Heat – This is a very common type of heating, and can involve furnaces, boilers, and heat pumps that circulate the warm air throughout the home.

Direct Heat – These provide a single source of heating, and it moves into an area of your home. Examples of direct heat are fireplaces, gas heaters, electric space heaters.

Together with your AC system, air quality systems and humidifier, your furnace is meant to provide a stable climate inside regardless of the weather outside. As Canadians we spend so much time in our homes, it makes sense to do your research and allow us to help. It pays off to invest in ensuring a reliable and consistent climate in your home.

How are Boilers Different than Furnaces?

Boiler systems, or hydronic systems use hot water to distribute heat. Boilers require  natural gas or heating oil to heat hot water, and push it through radiators and other devices, moving heat to other parts of your home. The water continuously cycles so it returns to the boiler to be reheated. At Furnace King we install new boilers, and we offer boiler repair and maintenance services.

If you have a boiler in your home, and it doesn’t seem to be performing, call us. We are also highly skilled in installing new boilers and removing the old.  We offer a range of brands, competitive prices, and will gladly arrange a free consultation to help you choose the best for you. We service the Mississauga, GTA, Oakville, Burlington and area.
